New classification and labelling rules according to the CLP regulation*
The new classification, labelling and packaging (CLP) rules came into force in January 2009 pursuant to the Regulation of the European Parliament and Council (EC) no. 1272/2008 of 16 December 2008.
According to the transitional measures specified in the above-mentioned regulation from 1 June 2015 preparations (mixtures) shall be classified, labelled and packed according to the new guidelines.
The changes apply to:
- risk phrases (R-phrases) – replaced by hazard statements (H)

safety phrases (S-phrases) – replaced by precautionary statements (P)
- indications of danger – replaced by signal words (danger or warning)
